A collaboration with Metallica is imminent …

Maybe I'm naive, but you'd think given the circumstances (deceased husband's CD collection, unaware it was a boot) that Clapton's people could have handled this a little differently, cease and desist order or something similar.

It's also kind of weird because people sell boots on ebay all the time. I've bought several. No Clapton though, lol.

4K in costs? Could have been worse - judge could have made her listen to the CD too.

I bought a few boots on eBay back in the early 00's—when the ruse was that you were bidding on a pencil, plus they'd throw in PiL in 1979 in LA—but sites like Dime and music blogs have voided that. One of the achievements of the internet in setting music free is that it has killed the bootleg as a commodity. In Marxian terms, the boot is all use value, next-to-no exchange value. If P2P was a kick in the nuts to the official music industry, it's been lethal to the bootleg industry.

He's a piece of shit and it sucks that he's become ubiquitous in rock/music history... popping up in the Beatles new doc and being featured at the Museum of African American Music (which is crazy). He released a handful of interesting songs, but most of his catalog is an absolute bore.

Even worse, I’m pretty sure when that was originally sold, it was legal in Germany.

He can sue his remaining children for not dying, causing him lost future revenue
