I can't deny that I binge watched Yellowjackets so I heard that song many times over a couple of days and I went from really liking it to taking or leaving it. Come to think of it, that would pretty much be my review of the show too. Listening again a couple of months later though and it's got it's freshness back. I like it's discombobulating effect. Didn't know what it was but it makes sense since you mentioned the time sig.

Ibibio Sound Machine was a decent listen but didn't really grab me. Like a solid album track.

Just Mustard. I'm going between that being one of the greatest band names ever or one of the worst. Similarly, when listening to the song I went from "good start... not sure about the vocals... actually I like the vocals... this music is great...these new vocals are excellent..." so I'd say it's a strong like.

Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker - Natalie (the younger)
Ibibio Sound Machine - Shauna (both versions)
Just Mustard - Misty, of course.

Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker—No Return
Like a collision between Wire and Siouxsie & the Banshees and that's no bad thing. Good stuff this.

Ibibio Sound Machine—All That You Want
Great voice but musically didn't really grab me.

Just Mustard—Deaf
I hear Lush and the Pale Saints here but that's not a criticism. This is some solid gaze.

Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker—No Return - I liked this, but did wish it lasted longer.

Ibibio Sound Machine—All That You Want - Not bad, just something Im not really going to get into. Might be more fun live.

Just Mustard—Deaf - Not a style of music I listen to except when the DJ before me was playing it. I liked it when the screaming started and the music itself got a sense of urgency to it as well.

Three more new ones for me, good listens. Thanks Kory.

Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker, “No Return.” DarkFarfisa. Pullingapart. Stupendous.

Ibibio Sound Machine, “All That You Want.” Retrofuturism. Groovtastic. Propah!

Just Mustard, “Deaf.” MBVswirlly. Gloriouslyvertigo. I’mfuckingsold!

When he can stop pimping Pearl Jam, Kory consistently picks stuff that seems entirely aimed at my aesthetic.

alt-J – Hard Drive Hero
Not crazy about the vocal, but the instrumental is a lot of fun. Lots of build up and drop outs, nice keyboards. 6.5/10

The Dip – Paddle to the Stars
This is the same issue I have with that first Leon Bridges album and some of revbob's picks - There's no evidence that the last 60 years have occurred. Arrangement and performances are all on point, but it does bug me a bit, so I'll withhold review.

Snail Mail – Valentine
I spent a decent amount of time trying to get into her last year and almost did. Ben Franklin is probably the preferred one for me, but this one is still good. Def has a 90s vibe to it on the chorus and that's okay. Cool transition between the verse/chorus with the tempo change. 7/10.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Between the vocal effects and the odd time (i'm counting 4 beat measure followed by 2 beat (6/4?)), there is definitely an edginess to this. Nice release about halfway through before that tense refrain. Definitely accomplishes what it sets out even if it isn't an easy listen. I'm also glad to see Anna still doing great things 7/10

Ibibio Sound Machine—All That You Want
This caught my ear within the first seconds. This sounds really fresh to me, a new combination of things that I know and love - tight vocal harmonies, driving synth lines, horn parts. Really great stuff and immediately added it to my playlist. 9/10

Just Mustard—Deaf
The sparse bass driven verses are a nice mix up for the genre. I like, don't love shoegaze so this isn't big for me, but I like it. The breakdown is nice combined with the distant male vocal that eventually becomes a shout. I love a well used shouting vocal. Good stuff that I liked more as the song went on. 7.5/10

Time for Kory to blow my fucking mind and/or die trying

Craig Wedren & Anna Waronker—No Return: I have no idea what yellowjackets is so this is new to me. Love the organ and vocals that sound underwater. The whole thing feels off-kilter like some maddening funhouse mirrors. Very choice cut. 8/10

Ibibio Sound Machine—All That You Want: Some Electro inspired music is an easy, easy way to my heart. Some great horns too. I was a little worried the repetition would make this feel too long, what with me listening to this at my desk and not on a dancefloor, but it held my attention the whole time. Just a great groove. 8/10

Just Mustard—Deaf: This is fine. I like a touch of shoegaze now and again but it's definitely a genre I appreciate more than truly adore. I probably don't have the palette to discern what makes this different from its peers. It all sounds fine to me. 6/10

Very nice picks, KP. I'll definitely be listening to more ISM.
