Ugress - Zombie Eagles
This is a new one to me. Great song, got an industrial feel to it. I should look up more. 8.5/10

Sampa the Great - Final Form
Yeah ki d of straddles old vs new hip hop with enough of the old to make me pay attention, along with some female vocals, yeah this is good. I'll have to look for more. 8/10

Big Joanie - Fall Asleep I know this song, part of my regular playlist. It just has a great groove, love it. 8.5/10

Nice picks Oliver.

Hello,

I'm sorry to be a bit behind (end of semester stuff).

Wedren and Waronker: reminds me of RJD2 stuff - vocal delivery could be more straightforward - decent energy - good stuff to listen to but probably wouldn't purchase.

Ibidio Sound Machine: I've listened to a fair amount of their stuff - this track is kind of Depeche Mode world music-y - that's a good thing!

Just Mustard: the vocals are too dreamy (I don't like dreamy) - the instrumentation is okay but not enough spark

Thanks! I hadn't heard 2/3 so that's good! More Werdern and Waronker stuff might be worth pursuing.

Ugress - Zombie
Reminds me a bit of the darker wave stuff that Gary Numan has done. Good vibe.

Sampa the Great - Final Form
This is ok but I find a lot rap stuff so samey. The breakdown is good but overall it doesn't really grab me.

Big Joanie - Fall Asleep
This on the other hand is excellent. Yes it's simplistic but it's really solid great vibe and cool vocals. Nice.

Ugress, “Zombie Eagles.” Sinister. 70sCopshowtheme. Awesomeness.
Sampa the Great, “Final Form.” Pointed. Groovalicious. Hypnotic.
Big Joanie, “Fall Asleep.” Yeah-ee-yeah-yeah. Thatsolo! Yeah!

Oliver comes thru!

Olaf, Im looking for 3 new Slime tracks on my desk tomorrow morning or dont bother showing up to the company bowling night.

Also some slackers need to be reviewing past 3s.

Maybe we should drop it down to packets of 2.

By 2024 it'll be 'post the first 10 seconds of a song' :)

Hello,

Kory's stuff first:

Guilty as charged. I really like this thread, so apologies all around (hey, I just realized that's cheaper than drinks all around).

Yellowjackets - reminds me of early RJD2 stuff (The Horror); sci-fi spy movie soundtrack; pretty good.

Ibibio Sound Machine - heard some of their other stuff which I liked a bit more than this track; electro world beat pop stuff; they're okay.

Just Mustard - too slow of a build and not much of a building; I don't like gazing at my shoes.

I like the Yellowjackets and Ibibio Sound Machine - thanks! Just Mustard isn't my kind of stuff...but I hadn't heard them before - thanks!

Next, oliver:

Ugress - again, a bit RJD2-ish to me (that's a good thing)the vocals kicked in and added an interesting texture; I like this but I don't get a Public Enemy vibe (I don't know if you meant that about this track or the next).

Sampa the Great - this is really good, bouncy stuff; the break is nice; sometimes the attitude doesn't appeal but overall, nice.

Big Joannie - I like this; pretty good rock and roll; the heavy bass (?) keeps it form becoming another girl group kind of song.

New stuff which is hard to categorize - great! Thanks for this.

The PE comparison was for Sampa the Great. I was almost waiting for Chuck D to come in.

How awesome would that be. That booming voice of his is always welcome.

I think I'll pass as I seem to be running out of ideas for this. Medulla's turn.
