I think we did a top 5 who albums at some point, I remember putting A Quick One at the top at the time. Looking at their discography now, I'm tempted to say that you can just rank the albums in their chronological order. Those first two records, when they were hard edged garage modders, still beats everything else for me.
My issue with A Quick One is that Pete let everyone else write songs. Enwistle did okay, but also stuck with the weird/jokey theme.
He was the Stewart Copeland of the Who.
He also wanted to murder Sting?

Most sane people do.

And a decent number of crazy people, too.

1. The Who Sell Out
2. Who's Next
3. My Generation
4. Quadrophenia
5. A Quick One...
5. Tommy
6. Who Are You
7. Who
8. Face Dances
9. It's Hard
10. Empty Glass

Townshend's solo albums are better than all of 6-10.

I completely forgot Who By Numbers.

1. The Who Sell Out
2. Who's Next
3. My Generation
4. Quadrophenia
5. A Quick One...
5. Tommy
6. Who Are You
7. Who
8. By Numbers
09. Face Dances
10. It's Hard

"Live at Leeds" is a cracker. But then so is "Live at Hull".

I'm not very familiar with this band outside of a greatest hits compilation. If I'm to explore, whose list here should I take as the truth?

These in any order should be fine

The Who Sell Out
Who's Next
My Generation
Quadrophenia
A Quick One...
Tommy
By Numbers

And Live at Leeds is one of the greatest live albums ever.

If Lyndon Johnson was president, you're safe.

I'm really only familiar with the hits and the live album which is, indeed, fantastic. One of the great live recordings.

You wouldn't have said that at the time.

Damn, this is pretty much exactly right. I'd probably put remember two things above busted, but otherwise yeah.
