Can't it be both?

Just vote for melody and justice.

Like a mash-up?
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Wait—KISS represents either of those?

Re: KISS vs. Swans: The Poll
I'm open to arguments on either side about the best way to avenge the misbegotten Detroit Rock City poll. All of you have blood on your hands for that, of course, but I'm willing to influxt maximal pain to whoever is most deserving.

Re: KISS vs. Swans: The Poll
I've already confessed my guilt and regret. That Bosstones' cover was awful—ain't backing down from that—but I should have known that it is always a bad idea to give Heston any degree of support for KISS. He runs with it and makes you feel like you've drowned puppies in a sack. I'll always regret voting in that poll.

As usual history will show I came down on the right side of that.

Re: KISS vs. Swans: The Poll
I didn't even need an A-list KISS top three to win.
I could easily have thrown in Detroit Rock City or Rock and Roll All Nite but didnt need to.

Doc, you're toast. I fully expect the board to vindicate me.

Re: KISS vs. Swans: The Poll
Man, I forgot about that one. That was a fun re-read.
I'm on the fence now. With my dive into 80s KISS, I found a few gems, but a lot of shit.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: KISS vs. Swans: The Poll
I have confidence in two things: people know how at-best mediocre KISS' music actually is; and the dangers of rewarding you with any KISS-related victory. And I'm hopeful that people who only know Swans by reputation will appreciate the diversity and quality of their expression.

As a woman, KISS makes me ill. Also, their music stinks.
Swans all the way.
