KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park
I've got my KISS lecture coming up on Friday—I always dedicate it to you—and I do show an ad that ran for it.
Wait...I get a namecheck? I'm honoured.
I've always introduced it as being inspired by the insane ramblings over way too many years by my friend John (I've never used your last name) who really should know better. The line gets a laugh. (I also wear that horrible KISS Yankees shirt that revbob bought me to show that my friends despise me.)

Given the stuff that I deliberately buy and wear, I really can't declare myself above all that.

This looks fun. Looks like it also features some inspirational moments with Gene and Paul, too.

The story of Casablanca Records is utterly bonkers. A case study in how hype can create reality, but reality will eventually bite back. Neil Bogart was a guy who sincerely believed it made sense to spend $2 to make $1 (except he worked in millions).

Roger Ebert gave it 2 out of 4 stars!

I really wanted to ask Bob Gruen when I met him if that character was based on him. But I chickened out.

To the degree that characters were drawn from life counterparts—save for the main characters—that seems as good an idea as any. But mostly it seemed like Cox just invented characters as needed.
