Charlie does or does not surf?

The greatest legacy he leaves is that he made a generation of people think for themselves. He didnt quite manage to change the world but he changed the way people looked at it. It's a sad day - but what a life

yes He does surf according to the italian lyrics
(by the way, next time you can contact if you want a transalation to/from italian) ;)

what do you think of the song?
I like it very much

Can you imagine that the band Baustelle declared that didn't know the Clash song?
They say they were inpired by a modern art work called Charlie don´t surf...
and actually, all this does make sense

I can tell you more... I'm obsessed with Charlie don't surf...

So they were inspired by an artwork that was probably inspired by a Clash song that was inspired by Apocalpyse Now. Well just goes along with my theory that everything goes back Apocalypse Now.

Yeah, but Apocalypse Now is just a retelling of Heart of Darkness.

Yeah, but Apocalypse Now is just a retelling of Heart of Darkness.
Which, in turn, is derivative of Pavement.

I've mentioned this before I think, but it bears repeating: I don't really like Apocalypse Now.

I think it's really good.

Of course, I was also getting fondled when I watched it the first time.

It's pretentious and largely boring. There are some cool scenes, I will admit, but as a whole the film isn't that great.

And that fucking self-indulgent crap with Brando mumbling in the shadows? Pure crap.
