Surge? Isn't that the thing where they added carbonation to the warehouse full of excess unsold inventory of this:

I'm gonna throw a "Wrong Thread!" flag on the play since that (other than Stabbing Westward...supporting Killing Joke??? ) is a pretty fucking Murders Row run of Monsters of Unspoilt(-at-that-time-and-place) Indie Rock. And Hoy would disown a third of those acts as 80's bands and another third as "Who???".Dr. Medulla wrote:tepista wrote:http://thekey.xpn.org/2015/08/31/the-trocadero-1994/Chuck Mangione wrote:Dinosaur Jr!
Also...Bakesale-era Sebadoh coming into town 1 week after post-Murph DJr.? That had to be delightfully awkward audience banter.

Re: Hey Flex (All Encompassing 90's Glorification)
I think my problem with the 90s is mainly the existential horror of 1996-2001 (I think the first two years or so of the aughts were part of the Long 90s).

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Ugh, Stabbing Westward is from the 'Jortsville. Chuck Berry must have done a Crossroads-like deal that stipulated nobody good would ever emerge from this place again.Rat Patrol wrote:I'm gonna throw a "Wrong Thread!" flag on the play since that (other than Stabbing Westward...supporting Killing Joke??? ) is a pretty fucking Murders Row run of Monsters of Unspoilt(-at-that-time-and-place) Indie Rock. You loathsome Gen X-ers love the 90's even more than me.Dr. Medulla wrote:Am I the only one here who dug Velocity Girl?

I remembered the name, but couldn't remember the tunes. Just gave them a spin on Spotify, I remembered "Save Yourself" and "What Do I Have To Do" and god they were awful.JennyB wrote:Ugh, Stabbing Westward is from the 'Jortsville.
