Yes, I do enjoy a caesar, but as you say that's typically very light. And I can do a bleu cheese but only if I'm having a cobb salad. Ranch can fuck right off forever. That name made me chuckle, sounds like a precursor to tea-bagging. Yeah I know, my mind is in the gutter, can't help it, just the way it is sometimes.Kimmelweck wrote: ↑21 Jan 2022, 5:38pm#18. At best, the band says, "Well, they spelled our name right."matedog wrote: ↑21 Jan 2022, 5:34pmGoogle turned up little info on them but I did find this one article from right before the movie/"their big break" came out: https://buffalonews.com/news/marry-me-j ... an%20today.
Choice quote: "Like a lounge act in the midst of a Las Vegas casino, Marry Me Jane merely provided background music for the action on the floor."

Looks like primo Flex bait.
Re: Hey Flex (All Encompassing 90's Glorification)
Hey, they are more of an early aughts band!
Also it looks like they took the fat from the morbidly obese guitar player and gave it to the singer:
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Also the place where they ar playing is basically a movie theater.

There's an argument that Flex loves the 90s more than Hoy.

Re: Hey Flex (All Encompassing 90's Glorification)
I'm more polarized I think. I love the stuff I love from the 90s a lot, but I really and truly deeply hate most of the dominant culture of the period, particularly late 90s/early aughts (which I think of as part of The Long 90s) when in the prime of my adolescence. I feel genuine alienation at the idea of being part of the dominant cultural trends of youth. I feel no nostalgia for the culture of the era at all. Even the stuff I like, or learned to like later, is better enjoying now than it was or would have been at the time.

Funny, if you substitute 80s for 90s, I could have written this.Flex wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 5:38pmI'm more polarized I think. It's weird for me that anything that sounds like a 90s throwback is immediately off-putting in a "why would I want to endure that again?" kinda way. Particularly musically.
