Bran Van 3000 or Powerman 5000?

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Bran Van 3000, easily

New Radicals or Marcy Playground?

Addendum: To clarify, while PM5k has a couple catchy tracks, BV3k actually made more interesting music. Kind of a shame they got relegated to one hit wonderism. Plus, there's the Beastie Boys connection.

I will go New Radicals after seeing the light recently.

Harvey Danger or White Town?

I'll say Harvey Danger since I can barely remember "Your Woman."

Folk Implosion or Primitive Radio Gods?

Jesus, I had to look Folk Implosion up, but that I definitely remember that one. The stupid Change Phone Booth song was stupid so I will go with Folk Implosion.

Republica or Elastica?

Elastica actually, even though I have a place in my heart for Republica.

Tonic or Semisonic?

Never a big Tonic guy, I did like a few Semisonic tunes.

The Refreshments or The Flys?

(I am officially renaming this thread to make it more accurate).

And, to spit on the new thread title:

The answer is Falkenbach.

Every time.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

You're (and anyone) welcome to play, but if you hate both bands just wait for me or matey (or someone) to chime in. I think we're trying to keep it fun and not-negative (well, relatively speaking for this board anyways).

Anyways, Jesus Jones.

Take That or Crazytown?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Oh of course. And though binary thinking may one day destroy us all, it's easy to make a relative choice on the NON-LIMEY CENTRIC ones.
