I'm a definite "maybe" for this one.

A thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. Worth it?
That's because New Order isn't New Order without Hooky.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 10:11amA thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. Worth it?
I saw them 2 years ago, and New Order a few months afterwards.
I loved both concerts, and I thought Peter Hook & the Light put on the better show.
I get that.Kory wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 3:49pmThat's because New Order isn't New Order without Hooky.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 10:11amA thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. Worth it?

They are starting their tour in St. Louis and I really want to go, but it's the night before VH, Jr.'s bar mitzvah, so I'm SOL.coffeepotman wrote: ↑02 Nov 2021, 1:58pmI just scored choice tix for Kraftwerk at Radio City Music Hall, I know they are old and there is maybe 1 original member but still it's a once in a lifetime thing.
Great name.
I dunno, 3 quarters of the original band is good enough for me and Tom Chapman does a reasonable job of sounding like Hook.Kory wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 3:49pmThat's because New Order isn't New Order without Hooky.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 10:11amA thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. I watched that concert film from a year or two back. They sound like a New Order tribute band at this point. Which isn't a serious knock, given their age and all, but nevertheless they underwhelmed. Plus Barney looks like a lawn gnome now.WestwayKid wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021, 1:10pmI dunno, 3 quarters of the original band is good enough for me and Tom Chapman does a reasonable job of sounding like Hook.Kory wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 3:49pmThat's because New Order isn't New Order without Hooky.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 10:11amA thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. Less than 3/4 is usually my cutoff for seeing a legacy band, but for me Hooky is too integral, so it doesn't fly.WestwayKid wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021, 1:10pmI dunno, 3 quarters of the original band is good enough for me and Tom Chapman does a reasonable job of sounding like Hook.Kory wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 3:49pmThat's because New Order isn't New Order without Hooky.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 10:11amA thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. I have to agree with your "3/4" rule, it's just not the same without the original members. But I've made exceptions, just had to see the Replacements back in 2015.Kory wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021, 2:05pmLess than 3/4 is usually my cutoff for seeing a legacy band, but for me Hooky is too integral, so it doesn't fly.WestwayKid wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021, 1:10pmI dunno, 3 quarters of the original band is good enough for me and Tom Chapman does a reasonable job of sounding like Hook.Kory wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 3:49pmThat's because New Order isn't New Order without Hooky.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 10:11amA thousand times "YES" -- do not miss this show.WestwayKid wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 2:30pmPeter Hook and the Light are coming to Milwaukee in April. And with some bands there are key members that cant be overlooked. Dead Kennedys immediately comes to mind. Excellent example. In the case of the Mats, Bob Stinson and their 2nd drummer, Steve Foley, are both deceased, Slim Dunlap is incapacitated due to a stroke, so you're left with Paul & Tommy.revbob wrote: ↑04 Nov 2021, 1:11pmAnd with some bands there are key members that cant be overlooked.
