I've seen Pennywise twice. They put on a decent enough show for what they are (which is to say, pretty mediocre punk played pretty well). Neither time were they the headliner though, excepting for a general tendency to stick out any music I've paid for no matter how bad, I don't think I'd stick around for them if there weren't other acts on the bill coming up later.

Addendum: both times there was a weird mix of punk rock. Circle Jerks/Pennywise this summer (as part of Punk in Drublic) and years ago they were on a bill with Stiff Little Fingers. On that one it was SLF that stuck out like a sore thumb - the headliner was The Offspring (playing Smash, that show slayed).
But the better band right...right?

Yeah, stuck out in that they were old school punk legends and the other bands were 90s all the way. I went with someone who was like "oh yeah, I forgot you like grandpa punk"

They were great. That's when they were touring their last studio album, iirc.

Yeah I've seen them a few times too, at summer festivals that I can't really remember.

Another annoying thing that happened is during the Circle Jerks set, mid-song, one of the Pennywise guys stood on the side of the stage to watch them (I could tell by the hat, yes). The crowd starts cheering. The same crowd that's put zero effort into Circle Jerks (e.g. not cheering between songs).

All those hats have little chips in them that alert fellow jocks when a pennywise band member is within 25 feet of the main stage

New Order/Pet Shop Boys on Sunday

Both in nice, mid-sized venues.

Not sure if anyone besides me cares, but DM is making a huge announcement tomorrow. I think some info leaked early, but they have taken much of it down. But this is a start! Also, a bit jarring without Fletch in the pic.

Chrissie Hynde and band next week in an intimate Edinburgh venue. I'm not the biggest fan but I have to indulge the missus. She put up with me doing my Wicker Man filming locations tour last month.

Hey, Chrissie Hynde was practically a Sex Pistol, as I understand it!

Also, did you recently get married? If so, belated congrats!

No, just a figure of speech. I'd need to sort my divorce out before I could think of getting married!

There's a religion for that.
