i'd see Lewis Black, but i'd have to get really really REALLY stoned beforehand.
From what I see there's still a little hope

I'd pay 65 cents to see Bonnie Raitt.
The last time I saw her was when she was in her boozy stage, and I hear her shows are better now.

I know, I know
Yes, everything about Johnny for almost my entire lifetime, but I'm almost too-bone deep a fan to even want to try and scrape it out.
Great music, which means a lot to me, powerfully delivered by a silly and arrogant man. It'll be a good night. Also: I'll be on lots of experience enhancing drugs.

Despite Lydon as a person, that his voice isn't what it what it was, and all that, I wouldn't hesitate. He's still a key figure in making me the sad fucker I am today. Plus, arguably, the current group of musicians is the best he's ever had around him.Silent Majority wrote: ↑27 May 2022, 7:49amI know, I know

If PiL has the same bass player as when I saw them 10 years ago, then you are in for a treat; he is phenomenal.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑27 May 2022, 7:52amDespite Lydon as a person, that his voice isn't what it what it was, and all that, I wouldn't hesitate. Yeah I saw them twice in this incarnation—Lu, Bruce, and Scott. Both great shows.Spiff wrote: ↑27 May 2022, 9:19amIf PiL has the same bass player as when I saw them 10 years ago, then you are in for a treat; he is phenomenal.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑27 May 2022, 7:52amDespite Lydon as a person, that his voice isn't what it what it was, and all that, I wouldn't hesitate. Got Covid two weeks ago, but thankfully recovered in time to see Ringo and his All-Starr band on Saturday. There were about ten of us who made the trip up to the casino from Toronto.
Best moment: between peace and loves, "don't bother throwing those papers on stage, I'm not signing them" — we all howled.
This year's All-Starrs were Edgar Winter, Steve Lukather (Toto), Colin Hay (Men at Work) and Hamish Stuart (Average White Band). They played basically everything you expected them to play, including Free Ride and Africa and Down Under and it was hilarious/great. Did some reading on Lukather afterwards and have decided that he probably deserved better.

I just saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor is coming to town this fall. Anyone here seen them live? Just wondering how their music translates to a love setting .

Haven't seen them, but it's a multimedia experience. The few boots I've heard haven't overly wowed me, tho.

Skipping Chicago/Brian Wilson at Red Rocks this week because we're back to high levels of COVID transmission in the community. Part of our group has just come down with COVID and has to cancel anyways and we, the missus in particular, feels too uncomfortable going with our little guy still unvaccinated we don't want to bring anything back home to him. Hopefully THAT will change in a few weeks but I'm pretty bummed, been looking forward to the show for like 7 months and it was gonna be the big return to red rocks post-pandemic.

I'm really hoping that since pretty much everyone I know has either had it or has it right now, that it's going to start dying down soon. I'm seeing Poliça in Seattle and Portland and I'm worried I'm going to get it at the first one and can't attend the second. Plus work keeps trying to get us all together for one-off in-person meetups to boost morale, but the pressure is doing the opposite for me.Flex wrote: ↑13 Jun 2022, 2:42pmSkipping Chicago/Brian Wilson at Red Rocks this week because we're back to high levels of COVID transmission in the community.
