Kinda pissed that Echo & the Bunnymen cancelled Cruel World, of all the bands on the bill that I care for, they're the one that I hadn't previously seen. Well, my plane is on a couple hours, I'm off to AvocadoToastafornia where its the law to have gay kids and Obama took my guns. Pray for me.
Reminds me of when I went to an RHCP/STP/Fishbone show only because I wanted to see Fishbone, and then they canceled like a week before but I still had to take my friend who was going because he wanted to see the other two bands. It was torture.
That happened to me when I went to see PJ Harvey open for Live. I left after her set.
What a travesty, but at least you didn't have to sit thru Live.
The nerve, right? The unmitigated GALL that SHE opened for THEM.

Holy shit holy shit holy shit. July 3rd, Dillon amphitheater, bob fucking dylan.

When I was mayor and taking a ton of shit for rebuilding the amphitheater we always used to say the dream was to get "Dylan in Dillon" and now it's actually happening. literally my dream come true. Holy shit.

They should let you do an honorary ribbon cutting or something. It's the least they could do.

Thinking about skipping Bauhaus in the face of the volume of people that I know personally dealing with COVID now—I haven't known anyone that had it until like 3 weeks ago.

I don't blame you. On the one hand, it seems probable that we're all going to get it sooner or later. But on the other hand, why court it?

To me it's just a matter of risk management now. I might go to a smaller show or to a very lightly populated and airy bar, but this one has just about sold out one of our biggest theaters, I don't even have an aisle seat, and nobody wears a mask even in this "liberal paradise" anymore. It's very weird how people that previously were even more careful than me have suddenly decided the pandemic is just over because the government said it is.

I've definitely got a moratorium on any indoor concerts (not that I'm getting out much to begin with). Definitely at least until the under-5 vax gets approved (hurry the fuck up!)

Cases are rising everywhere and further boosters haven't been approved so nobody has particularly great protection anymore against infection (even if it's still fairly robust against hospitalization/death). Counties in Colorado are starting to warn people to take up precautions (purely an individual choice, of course, since we've given up on the idea of collective responsibility).

Like KP, it feels like all of a sudden a bunch of people I know are getting coronavirus. And the people with kids under 5 echo matey's remarks: worse experience as a parent ever. Gonna try to avoid that if possible, thanks.

Snagged two tickets in center, second row (first row jumped up 400 dollars in price. Uh, no thanks), of the Dillon Amphitheater to see Bob Fucking Dylan. I am over the moon.

Last Tuesday, I saw Blondie with The Damned supporting. Glen Matlock played bass in Blondie. Captain Sensible didn't play as he is unvaccinated, so he isn't allowed to enter the US. Troy from Queens of the Stone Age did an admirable job filling in for him.
