Yeah, get that baby purring the way it did when it rolled off the line in Detroit, when workers cared because America also cared.revbob wrote: ↑28 Nov 2022, 2:20pmFirst I'll need to rebuild the engine myself. Looks like the tranny is in rough shape too. Between my day job in the factory and my night job at the bar I'll be lucky to find the time todo the repairs. I might have to give up my weekend motorcycle rides and making sweet love to my old lady who's had to pull double shifts down at the diner 7 days a week.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑28 Nov 2022, 2:28pmYeah, get that baby purring the way it did when it rolled off the line in Detroit, when workers cared because America also cared.revbob wrote: ↑28 Nov 2022, 2:20pmFirst I'll need to rebuild the engine myself. As long as you have a good pair of well-worn jeans and a radio tuned to an AM channel, you'll be okay.revbob wrote: ↑28 Nov 2022, 3:50pmLooks like the tranny is in rough shape too. I really want to read that.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

That issue doesn't have any real Brooose content—there's a thing about rock stars that he's mentioned in, but that's it—but the next issue has this:

“Daddy” sounds about right.
