That Jeep money coming in handy:
After pleading guilty to the consuming alcohol in a closed area charge, Springsteen, who has no prior criminal history, was handed down a $500 fine. When asked how long he needed to pay the fine, Springsteen told the judge, “I think I can pay that immediately, your Honor.”
He then punched in for an extra shift at the Westinghouse plant because time-and-a-half would cover the fine in three days.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I don't remember if this has been posted here before, but this had me rolling, particularly the "Little Stevie tries a story"

Fan-fucking-tastic. Reminds me of the Having Fun Onstage With Elvis that the colonel would sell in the lobby.

This is a big "nope": https://wror.com/2021/05/20/bruce-sprin ... amp-album/
At the time, Mellencamp was getting compared to Bruce Springsteen, and now, he revealed, he and The Boss have worked together. “Bruce is singing on the new record and is playing guitar,” Mellencamp said. “I finished the record a week ago today.”

Whenever he comes up in real life (barely ever) I have to think to remember if he's a white supremacist or if that's just an IMCT meme.

One is someone I don't like but never hear; the other is someone I don't like but won't go away.

That's some shadow over Innsmouth shit right there. To the tune of Atlantic City: "That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.”
