I really wanted to like this but just couldn't. Hope he doesn't play it when I see him live in Birmingham next year.matedog wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 5:46pmDr. Medulla wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 5:05pmOh good lord.matedog wrote: ↑20 Sep 2022, 5:02pmGrimes? Eh it’s not the best song on the album. I prefer “Stop Making This Hurt” and “How Dare You Want More.” I do like the song, particularly the outro and it was exciting for me to hear new Springsteen music that didn’t sound like the tired Brendan O’Brien productions he has employed the last 20 years or so.Silent Majority wrote: ↑21 Sep 2022, 5:36amI really wanted to like this but just couldn't. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Re: The Dizzle and Jimmy Jizzle's Thread o'Bruce
I forgot Bruce was also on this:
COVID finally had him stepping out of this comfort zone eventhough he and the other “guest stars” (Jenny Lewis) are basically inaudible and lead singer Justin Vernon is unrecognizable.

Suck it, Johnny Lunchpail.“Regardless of the commentary about a modest number of tickets costing $1,000 (£828) or more, our true average ticket price has been in the mid-$200 (£165) range. I believe that in today’s environment, that is a fair price to see someone universally regarded as among the very greatest artists of his generation.”

£70 quid to see Iggy, Steve Jones, Billy Idol, Paul Cook and Blondie. Aside from Stephen King epigrams, who's added more to the culture?Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 7:31amhttps://www.nme.com/news/music/bruce-sp ... ur-3351986

You can have $200 tickets if you want to sit in the far corner of the arena, miles from the stage...Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 7:31amhttps://www.nme.com/news/music/bruce-sp ... ur-3351986

Maybe I got a post-COVID discount, but I paid far less to see the Stones in late 2021. Less than $100 per ticket and they were decent tickets.

I guess if people will pay upwards of $20k to see Taylor Swift then his tickets are a bargain.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 7:31amhttps://www.nme.com/news/music/bruce-sp ... ur-3351986

Yeah, I agree completely, I'm always shocked how much tickets go for nowadays, they're really pricing their core fans out of the shows.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 12:35pmTaylor Swift isn't promoted as the voice of the forgotten workingperson, tho.Sparky wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 12:33pmI guess if people will pay upwards of $20k to see Taylor Swift then his tickets are a bargain.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 7:31amhttps://www.nme.com/news/music/bruce-sp ... ur-3351986

Solid contributor with a working class persona who is likable on the merits but quite overrated by sports talk radio guys who don't like "flashy" black players/musicians.

That is amazing. Tell your boss that you've peaked for the day, so you're going to a bar.
