The Led Zeppelin Thread

Post by Flex »

Okay, so we can all do a top 5 or whatever, but I was thinking it might be interesting to see if we all had to pick our favorite song off of each album. You know, gotta pick the favorite child kind of thing.

I:
Communication Breakdown

II:
Whole Lotta Love

III:
Immigrant Song

IV:
When the Levee Breaks

Houses of the Holy:
Over the Hills and Far Away

Physical Graffiti:
In My Time of Dying

Presence:
Achilles Last Stand

In Through the Out Door:
All My Love

Coda:
Poor Tom
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Pex Lives!

Wolt, all your changes would have been close seconds for me. Damn, what a deep catalog.

And, all of yours were close seconds for me. I spent about a minute staring at LZII's tracklist and trying to decide between your choice and mine.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

It's like CTC played by capable musicians for ten minutes.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Just refreshed my memory of it. It sounds like the background music to a local channel's weekly sports highlights reel circa 1986.

I'd just like to add that D'yer Mak'er is a fine tune, as well.

Ozone Baby kinda sucks. And agreed on Poor Tom, Flex. In fact, I thought I came up with this awesome syncopated Garibaldi beat back in the day but then I realized I was just playing the Poor Tom beat but with my right hand on the hi hat, not the snare.
