I think a lot of Presence is decent. In particular I like Hots On and Achilles. I can't hate the rest of it, but it's not exemplary compared to the rest of their output.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Coda is funny because it has some live tracks that they try to pass off as studio tracks. Which is the opposite of what you are supposed to do.

They did a lot of drugs. I'm sure it made sense to them at the time.

I'm sure Carouselambra made sense at the time too.
Combat Rock was done sober tho.

Maybe they were trying to pad the length of the album. Zep were pretty good at dragging out the length of songs in concert.

Coda was supposed to be an outtakes "vault clearing" album. One the songs is under three minutes but was a cover they had not recorded before. The other was I Can't Quit You Babe which was on the first album. So I guess they tried to pass it off as an "alt version"? I don't know, Poor Tom and about two minutes of Wearing and Tearing are about all I listen to except Darlene once in a blue moon.

Not sure if it's legit, but there are stories going around that Plant tore up an $800million dollar offer to do some gigs with Zeppelin. I'd give my left nut to see them live, even today, but I respect the man's principles.

This might be the most drummer-centric post I've ever made on this board.
