Are people inferring that Another Girl, Another Planet isn't one of the greatest songs of all time?
Uh...what song is that?
Sorry, I refuse to believe anyone doesn't think it's anything but an amazing track. One of the greatest guitar solos put to vinyl.
I like it. Amazing? no not for me but then guitar solos don't really float my boat. A short killer riff is all I really need.

Maybe, but what about digital?

You might be on your own when it comes to forward thinking.

Streamed or cd? This matters to you fetishists (by which I mean you're hitting each other with riding crops while listening).

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I think they might still be popular in Japan. I know a lot of masters came out of there at least.

I have a handful of gold cds. The gold doesn't make a difference (japan is chalk full of cd snake oil, check out SHM and Blu Spec formats), but a lot of times they have unique, high quality masterings.

Per Wikipedia, they are less prone to disc rot than regular cds. That’s not how I remember them being marketed though.

It reminds me of the blind test done years ago where professional wine tasters failed to consistently distinguish a $500 bottle from a $20 bottle. Put a new hat on Malibu Stacy and it's better.

Hello,

Okay, I'm old -but I challenge any young person to post a current band that can deliver this level of performance. The crowd are n the same floor as the band yet remain a step back realizing they're not on the same level as the band - not wanting to interrupt the band. I would suggest current young people would be grabbing the mike trying to get their youtube or instagram moment (oops, old fart creeping out). Enjoy!
