U2 fucked up by going back to paint by the numbers political arena rock. I love Zooropa and Pop. Those albums had an earnestness in the fact that they were in fact rockstars by that point.

Im resisting the urge to say Bono is a pretentious asshole and U2 makes boring music.RockNRollWhore wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:40pmU2 fucked up by going back to paint by the numbers political arena rock. Post Y2K yeah absolutely. In the nineties he had mostly stopped the saviour bono bent. Musically I can understand if it's not your bag.revbob wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:46pmIm resisting the urge to say Bono is a pretentious asshole and U2 makes boring music.RockNRollWhore wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:40pmU2 fucked up by going back to paint by the numbers political arena rock. Give in to your urges. That said, a friend who is a U2 nut once made me a compilation called U2 For People Who Hate Bono. It wasn't bad, tho not enough to persuade.revbob wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:46pmIm resisting the urge to say Bono is a pretentious asshole and U2 makes boring music.RockNRollWhore wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:40pmU2 fucked up by going back to paint by the numbers political arena rock. For me it would be like Heston listening to the Swans.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:59pmGive in to your urges. I'm an odd duck. I love stuff like Swans and Jandek, but also love mainstream pop rock like Whitesnake and Stereophonics. I'm hopeless I suppose.revbob wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 10:12pmFor me it would be like Heston listening to the Swans.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑04 Aug 2021, 9:59pmGive in to your urges.
