I assume the betting is without The Enemy.

To anyone that cares, Simon Gallup announced that he left the Cure a couple days ago, citing being "fed up of betrayal."

How much betrayal can there be within a band that barely does anything anymore?
I saw an article on that too and I was surprised that besides Robert Smith, Simon was the last original member of the Cure. Kind of a revolving door, like the Damned.

I saw that, too. And my understanding is that after this next album is released, Smith is ending the whole thing, so what are you quitting?

Maybe the betrayal is the promise of releasing new records and then never doing it.

Maybe, but, I dunno, was he ever prevented from playing with other groups, starting another band in the interim? Do that other stuff and when Smith decides to do something Cure, you check back in. Just seems weird because the nature of the band hasn't been anything like a pressure cooker for a long time.

I went on a couple dates with a girl I'm pretty sure solely because I reminder her of the lead singer of Interpol. I feel insulted about 16 years too late.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Middle dude is ugly, but the two dudes flanking him are okay minus their very 2006 hair.

My roommate in college had a cd either by them or a solo from their vocalist that looked like an ashtray full of butts and his drunk friends ruined it at a party.

Can we say for sure that The Faith Tones weren't some kind of under-the-radar Devo prank?
