An observation: "King of Pain" by The Police is still a decent song, but those lyrics are dorm-room philosophy cringe. One of many reasons to want to punch Sting in the nose.

Synchronicity II is the best song of that era, my favourite Police song.

I still quite like that album in its entirety—I’m one of, like, nine people who genuinely love the spluttering nonsense of “Mother”—but Sting’s Stingness (like Morrissey’s Morrisseyness) is something I have to filter out.

I had a short-lived Steely Dan period (like 2 days) a couple months ago, but I have a hard time with DF's voice. My biggest sin as far as this group is concerned is probably liking Yes, ELP, Gabriel-era Genesis, etc.
