A musical admission: I'm wanting to like Scowl's new songs a lot more than I am. Such a great hardcore debut, but the new songs sound like they want to be Hole. Not a terrible aim, I guess, but not nearly as exciting as that first album.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

The mortality rate of Lynyrd Skynyrd is insane:

Of everyone who played in the band from their founding in 1964 until their plane crash in 1977, only Ricky Medlocke, Greg Walker, and Artemis Pyle remain. 12 members total, so a mortality rate of 75%.

Sure, the Beatles have a mortality rate of 50%, but there were only 4 members.
Ramones always takes the crown. Joey died at 49, Johnny at 55, Dee Dee at 50, Tommy at 65. All cancer except of course, Dee Dee.
Man, that is jaw-dropping to see the ages listed like that. Was Ramones House built on top of nuke dump site?
LFO (of "Summer Girls" fame) probably takes the cake now: 3 of the 4 members are dead (one of cancer at 36, one of cancer at 41, and another one at 47 for reasons that haven't been disclosed).
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Just filed my tax return and with some of the refund I splurged on this: https://rocket88books.com/products/too- ... ed-edition

(I also had a discount coupon from them, which knocked some money off.)

To be more practical, I also bought a new tool kit so I can pretend to be handy.

Well, I imagine your tool kit is better than mine, but thanks!

I've had that book for a while now. But unlike you I bought it in a sale for about £15.00. Just the book mind no posters and no gay bag.

I also bought Krivine's follow up book "New Wave Graphics 1977 - 1990".

Very important update: Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, and now The Offspring are all taking sides in the great Bud Light/Jack Daniels culture war of 2023:

The only possible good thing about this kind of shit is to make more right wingers hate the free market.
