I honestly didn't expect a Hoyston over the By the Way singles.
RHCP seemed a safe pick to me where Heston would side with the majority, but he chose to confound.
But they charted.
And after 1964.

Just good pop hooks done with a bit of bollocks, what's not to like?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

The unstoppable faucet of shit?
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

Back in '78, that would have been one divided audience.

I met an American bartender in Japan who went to one of those shows and yeah he was very much not into the Ramones being the opening act. But hell I would have loved it although Sabbath in 78 were probably on the decline at that point.

Somewhat odd double bill, like Doc said, definitely a divided audience for that time.
Saw Joe Ely opening for the Clash back in 1979, I felt kind of bad for Joe Ely, audience was pretty narrow minded and I doubt there were very many of his fans in attendance that night, his band got treated pretty poorly by the crowd.

Or when Suicide opened for the Clash. Fans, not musicians, love to establish walls and boundaries.

Hello,

I saw Kurtis Blow open for the Clash on the Pier. A bunch of people were aggressively booing - really closed minds.

Fans suck. They're a vital element, certainly, but they always represent the worst of the overall context of a band.

Hello,

I wouldn't say always but far too often.
