U2 fucked up by going back to paint by the numbers political arena rock. I love Zooropa and Pop. Those albums had an earnestness in the fact that they were in fact rockstars by that point.

Post Y2K yeah absolutely. In the nineties he had mostly stopped the saviour bono bent. Musically I can understand if it's not your bag.

Give in to your urges. That said, a friend who is a U2 nut once made me a compilation called U2 For People Who Hate Bono. It wasn't bad, tho not enough to persuade.

I'm an odd duck. I love stuff like Swans and Jandek, but also love mainstream pop rock like Whitesnake and Stereophonics. I'm hopeless I suppose.
