Dont mind DS, quite like Love Over Gold album, but mid 80s stuff is horrible. Money For Nothing and Twisting by the pool are two of the most annoying 80s tracks for me.

On that nme poll, don't think its that bad tbh. Only a couple of howlers there, would have expected more.

I think Knopfler is a fine enough guitarist, I've liked his work when he guests on stuff, but Dire Straits are pretty, er, dire.

I don't think I've ever listened to any of their albums, but I'll always stop to listen to Sultans of Swing if it's on in the market or radio or whatever.
