I was just in a liquor store with mu sister and brother-in-law and “Uptown Girl” came on. In my head, immediately, I said, “Goddammit Heston and Tom!”
Now I'm not a huge fan of Uptown Girl but I think it has been ruined by overplaying, even as early as when it was actually out.
Hence, Goddammit Heston.

Red Light Spells Danger is actually an incredible record. The tension in it is amazing and when it opens up into that chorus...wow.

One of my favourite ever vocal performances by anyone, ever. Respect Mr Ocean.

Brilliant lyric, brilliant tune. Love it.

My sister and brother-in-law just told me this story about an unsolved murder and a Johnny Cash song that he stopped singing out of respect. As it turns out, the Boss was a nursing student at the time and may have known her, but certainly was affected by the fear in the aftermath of the crime.

Your wife was a student nurse in 1962? Or what am I missing here?

Big whoops on my part. It's my wife's mother who was the nursing student at the time. Um, yeah, whoops. I blame typing on an iPad at the time. :shifty:

T. Rex is getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. They're inducting the "classic" lineup of Bolan, Mickey Finn, Steve Currie, and Bill Legend. 3 of the 4 are dead. Kind of a sad induction.

I'm not a huge fan but they certainly had some great tunes. I'd come across her rape comments a few years ago and was really disappointed to read them.

Fuck people.

Kid from their first album is great. I've always liked the guitar playing of the late James Honeyman-Scott.

Ugh. Not that her opinions on anything will make or break my day, but seeing anyone not already condemned to asshole hell kiss butt to evil is depressing.

Her voice always got on my nerves a bit. Some good songs but...
