Clang clang, go the jelly guitar rolls!

I blame a crappy nth generation cassette with no track listing and a passing familiarity with Jelly Roll Morton...
Chewing oot a rhythm on my bubblegum

Most people get the lyric to Pretty Vacant wrong.

There's no point in asking you'll get no reply
Just remember don't decide

The actual lyric is "Just steam in and don't decide".

Guilty as charged.

I was listening to "The Butterfly Collector" by the Jam the other day, and I've just realized it's "just a face on your pillowcase that thrills you." For years I thought it was "bores you." I blame Weller's accent.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It was written about Soo Catwoman who Weller felt was just looking for the next punk star to cling to.

"There's tarts and whores but you're much more" not to flattering.

Just listening to the Manic Street Preachers cover and realised the song doesn't go

"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
The very next day, you gave it away
This year, the semi-frontier
I'll give it to someone special"
a lifetime serving one machine
Is ten times worse than prison

Athough I qouted the lyric as written by Matlock correctly. I think John sings "Just steam in but don't decide" and he sings the "Just steam in but" as if it's one long word "Juststeaminbut" which makes it sound very much like "Just remeber"....you see what I did there didn't you. ;)

The Pogues song, USA ,I thought it started out ...

When I was young
I washed the cars

instead of the real lyric... I watched the cars
