Broudie knows his way around a melody.
Forces have been looting
My humanity
Curfews have been curbing
The end of liberty
We're the flowers in the dustbin...
No fuchsias for you.

Yeah great songwriter. The guy on Broudie's left is having a blast playing the bass

Haven't heard this in probably about 30+ years. I've got a whole new perspective on this song after hearing this version, this version blows the other one I've always heard away.

Filmed at the bunker. Brief cameo of Mick towards the end.
Funny seeing Glen in a baseball cap.

Forget A Day In The Life, Embrace did the better orchestral crescendo. Skip to around the 3:40 mark, or just listen to the whole track, it's a fucking monster.
Or try the orchestra mix for the ultimate bulge.

I did a lecture on studio musicians in 60s pop today and played a few clips, including The Byrds' "Mr. Tambourine Man," which was mostly played by the Wrecking Crew. I realized that I was a fool—I should have played the superior Shatner version. Rats.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

To be fair I think this version was recorded after 1965.
