I have the jungle book LP with the story between the tracks and picture book sleave. My sister had the Aristocats. Olliver was also a fave of mine. I remember my mum playing the soundtrack from Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair over and over. My Ding A Ling was probably the first record in the charts I liked.Marky Dread wrote:Brilliant this was my first introduction to music I have the original vinyl album it's been kept in mint condition, my first lp, I think my mum must have played it as I would've scrathed it at the time. Other early records were Please Please me - The Beatles and 5 x 5 live ep - The Rolling Stones also universal soldier by Donovan.Dr. Medulla wrote:I can't say I know for sure, but an educated guess would be music from The Jungle Book. I had a lot of Disney records as a kid, and I know I played that one a lot.

I think INXS was the first I ever heard, Kick to be specific.
Re: First song you can remember hearing
The Beatles, Revolver album. My mum played it constantly..... Still love that album.
Re: First song you can remember hearing
Something my mother played most likely. Neither of my parents are that into music though. My dad still listens to the news on the crackily AM station.

Re: First song you can remember hearing
My dad used to sing Bob Dylan's The Wicked Messenger to me when I was going to sleep (Out of all the Dylan songs he chose that one) & the artist that really sticks out for me would be Cat Stevens, my parents used to play his records all the time when I was younger.
The first song I loved was Elvis' Return To Sender, I nicked their CD & just put it on repeat every day for about a year.

Re: First song you can remember hearing
My first song was Heroin by the Velvet Underground.
All kidding aside, it was probably something that was always playing in the house like Buddy Holly, Elvis or the Beatles.

I was just listening to the Stiff Little Fingers cover of Blockbuster the other day, it was quite amusing.

My dad was constantly playing Johnny Cash lp's...it could be a number of his songs.
I'm pretty sure it was The Ballad of Ira Hayes.

Great show, I couldn't believe they split up a couple of months later.

Probably some song by the Beatles.
They're the first band I had any active interest in, in any case.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!
