So did any of you bitches see X's last tour?

Post by CorwoodRep »

Let's talk about how awesome it was.

I saw them at the Music Box in LA on April 11th, a concert notable for being on-fire with unadulterated rock awesome. Notable moments of incredibleness in the setlist:

-We're Having Much More Fun, which is new to the set. The shared lead was as unfaltering as it was on the studio recording, and Billy Zoom changed the guitar line somewhat, for the better, in my opinion.
-Adult Books. Why was this ever out of the setlists? This song tore shit up.
-See How We Are. Acoustic and gorgeous.
-We're Desperate. Performed perfectly, as always, and hearing about half the audience singing along to "my whole fucking life is a wreck" made me remember how anthemic and righteous it is.
-Los Angeles. Nobody in the entire crowd was standing still during this song. I was part of the mosh pit by accident. And that's exactly how punk rock should be.

I think they did Sugarlight and Riding With Mary and a couple other new additions to the set. I don't remember it exactly.

Generally speaking, it was just great to know that other people in real life adore X as much as I do, or at the very least have heard of them. My actual friends are into Dave Matthews and wretched bullshit like that.

They did Riding With Mary at the Boston show I was at in 2005, so that one pops in from time to time.

I think See How We Are is the only non-Billy song they play fairly regularly.

Yeah, I saw one of the Music Box shows in LA too. I was planning on seeing them again this past Saturday in Anaheim, but I was ill.

Hey, here's a question:

Has Under The Big Black Sun ever been in the sets? I don't get why they don't seem to play it regularly.
