One of my favourites on the album, always loved GOTP. The chorus is epic musically, Weller and Foxton yet again truly complimenting each other.

Lyrically not up to the standard of the rest of the album.

I still like Girl On the Phone, it's just not as good as the rest of that great album, maybe aside from the cover of Heatwave.

I like Heatwave but no way that belongs on the album. Should've been a B-side. Smithers Jones shouldve been swapped album version for B-side version.

Agreed and agreed. Would be a very short album though with the removal of Heatwave. The addition of When You're Young would put it into classsic territory, and fits thematically with the album. Though I know they had a VFM thing going on at the time, with singles being kept off albums.

My take on Heatwave: I like it a lot. When I initially got into them a number of years back, I had no idea it was a cover so naturally assumed it was one of theirs which we all look more favourably on really.
