Maybe our iPods are trying to tell us something. :shifty:

(namely: kill Wolter and make it look like a suicide)
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

Keep in mind I have every form of music I have ever downloaded or bought on my ipod:
1. Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend
2. Built to Spill - Randy Described Eternity (never heard this one before, ended up skipping it anyway)
3. Bruuuuuce - When You're Alone
4. Brian Jonestown Massacre - Starcleaner (bought a double album comp after seeing Dig! and like only one song, this wasn't it)
5. Beck - Go It Alone
6. Violent Femmes - Jesus Walking on the Water
7. Husker Du - 59 Times the Pain (phew, something to add hipness to the list)
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

That works out to roughly 30%... :shifty:

I'd argue that for Beck too, more I mean.

I thought it was going to turn out much worse, actually.

In all honesty, it's not as bad as it could have been.

Eh, one more time:

Devo - "Uncontrollable Urge"
Gang of Four - "Outside the Trains Don't Run On Time"
Nouvelle Vague - "Making Plans For Nigel"
Social Distortion - "Gotta Know the Rules"
Elvis Costello - "All These Strangers"
Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - "Yala Yalla" (St. Anne's 4/1/2002)
Echo & the Bunnymen - "Zimbo"

I'm okay with this list.

Take one yielded seven Nick Cave songs in a row (Birthday Party, Bad Seeds, Grinderman, soundtracks with Warren Ellis, etc.), so the shuffle function clearly sucks. Take two:

Sleater-Kinney - Taste Test
Sleater-Kinney - Tommy Gun
Sleater-Kinney - The Hot Rock
Sleater-Kinney - Get Up
Sleater-Kinney - It's Enough
Sleater-Kinney - Dig Me Out
Wild Flag - Ask The Angels

Okay, those are all Sleater-Kinney except for the last one, which is basically still Sleater-Kinney. Fuck that. Take three:

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Mirage
Warren Zevon - Frank And Jesse James
Top Risk Action Company - Euroshima
Sleater-Kinney - Sympathy (MOTHERFUCKER)
R.L. Burnside - Got Messed Up
The Beat Farmers - Gun Sale At The Church
Black Flag - The Process of Weeding Out

I wonder why the iPod sucks so much at shuffle.

Okay, this time I'm going to do two rounds based on my master library (according to Mediamonkey, this consists of 76,989 tracks making for roughly 205 days, 11 hours worth of music). Nothing is excluded.

Mediamonkey Shuffle Attempt #1:

Ramones - Cretin Hop [Live]
Joey Ramone - Mr. Punchy
Dick Justice - Brownskin Blues
Bad Religion - Someone to Believe
Brian Setzer - Mona Lisa
Beck - Milk & Honey
Johnny Cash - Banks of the Ohio [Outtake, w/ June Carter]

Ramones/Joey Ramone pairup suggests a weak alogrithm akin to Apple's (although scrolling through the rest of the shuffle list, it's still mixed up better than I'm used to when I shuffle from my iPod), also "Dick Justice" is one of my favorite names of all time.

Mediamonkey Shuffle Attempt #2:

Telegraph - September 14th [Live]
Greyhound - Follow the Leader
NOFX - Pharmacist's Daughter
Neil Young - Deep Forbidden Lake
Rammstein - Buck Dich [Massive Hardcore Terror Mix]
Bob Dylan - She Belongs to Me
Doc Watson - Learning to Smile

I'm honestly surprised it took this long for a Dylan song to appear. I also totally forgot I had any Rammstein in my collection.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
