Smooth FM have killed that Hollies number for me, it's on every day. Gasoline Alley Bred is its superior cousin anyway.
The Doobies song is still great. That transistion to the chorus is still one of the mist slinky musical moves ever.

Hmm can't see any obvious connection other the era. Though Joan was more successful in the 80's whereas Eagles 70's. But with the wonderful world of YouTube who knows mate.
