An announcement: Next week, I will listen to and evaluate an entire KISS album. But which album? Post your suggestions and rationales here. Everything's up for grabs, from what's awful to what's "good."
If I had to pick one, I'd go with 'Alive!'. Like most live albums, kind of a "best of", but with a bit more energy than the studio versions.

Both revbob and Sparky are picking something I'm familiar with and even considered "good." I'll do it, but, really, wouldn't you rather me evaluate something much more recently and undeniably awful?

How about Psycho Circus? Seems like a good Hoyston options because KISS+90s.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Then let's consider giving "Hot In The Shade" a spin.

Unmasked because it was the very cusp of them turning shit.

Plus they have the make up so it meets Heston’s thread criteria.

From the first page...
My input in this thread will deal with the years 1973-1981, though other people can talk about the "Vinnie Years" or suchlike if they choose.

Ha! That gave me a good chuckle.

I wish I could have delivered the death blow to the premise of this thread, but if not me, I'm quite happy that revbob was the agent of justice.

I liked Hoy's idea of Psycho Circus but I also feel obliged to honour Heston's suggestion of Unmasked, so I will listen to and write a review of both. Not likely on the same day because that much concentrated awful is probably toxic.
