Basically it's you posting what you think is conclusive evidence supporting your mad theories, then twisting everyone's words into support for said mad theory. Back of an envelope calculation says you were sober 80% of the time.Heston wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 4:38pmI've spent some of my most drunken moments in this thread. Re: The KISS thread
I hadn't heard the KISS version of it before, wish I could find the Replacements version to counter!

They probably did drunkenly cover it at some point

Re: The KISS thread
Without a doubt, but I can't find it on YT, to share here, only the 3 bootleg versions of live shows I have. Might even be better than "Black Diamond"

Re: The KISS thread
A Replacements cover might actually sound like an effort to be different, an actual interpretation, instead of something rote.

Well, maybe I can upload a file so we can compare. Not so much the Dave Clark 5 on steroids, more like 4 guys on large amounts of adult beverages.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 May 2021, 8:42amA Replacements cover might actually sound like an effort to be different, an actual interpretation, instead of something rote.

I won't say I like it more that the DC5 original, but at least it tries to be something else, stripping things back and inserting volume.Sparky wrote: ↑29 May 2021, 9:34amWell, maybe I can upload a file so we can compare. Re: The KISS thread
I will say you’re all feeding into Heston’s lunacy by sharing impromptu jams by the ‘Mats that were never intended to be official releases, when his preference is for lumpen, rehearsed, rote studio covers. Like Phil Collins doing “Can’t Hurry Love...”

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: The KISS thread
Side 4 is studio stuff. Somehow I still know this. Still, for a band that was known for its live shows, they could only cobble together three sides worth for release, then a bunch of extras.

To be fair, they were mainly known for the visuals of their live shows.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 May 2021, 4:04pmSide 4 is studio stuff. Somehow I still know this. True, true.
