Are you confining it to the UK?
Do I look like a man who habitually listens to the Eagles?
One of the few musical sins I would never ascribe to you.
I'd need to miss out on a few of those 1979 UK releases myself. The Doolies? The Nolans? Didn't Max Bygraves bring out a 'disco' single then? And Cliff???!
1979 had some classics (in my meaning of the word) which will live with me forever. 'Death Disco,' 'Are 'friends' Electric,' 'Playground Twist' and then a few thousand more including a certain ep and single by The Clash. But, like every year, there was just so much shite, absolute shite, to wade through, that the stuff that made the charts isn't even the stuff that really stinks. And most of it did anyway.

Was it the Dooleys who sang "Wanted?" I quite liked that tune. Also big props to the Nolans for "I'm In the Mood For dancing."
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Heston, are you taking the piss? I'll bet when you grew up you thought the Goombay Dance Band were authentic Jamaican folksters.
Not directly in line with the theme, but tonight I listened and watched to Shine a Light (Stones and Scorcese film) and the Pistols show from the Longhorn - wow. These cover the ends of the spectrum. Even if the Pistols lasted a thousand years and sold a gazillion records, I can't imagine the Pistols doing a meet and greet.
Recently picked up this 7'' which is quite rare now. Probably the first new wave band from Atlanta GA. Reminds me a bit of "Chairs Missing" era Wire.
