What hits? A meagre three UK top 40 hits and the same in the States. What's strange is their biggest US hit never charted over here, and their biggest UK hit never charted over there. Should have kept that for the trivia thread.

I was a fan back in the day so maybe I over estimated their commercial success but you are right about their singles discography.
If you look at the ‘best known’ songs:

Psycho Killer US 92 - UK no chart
Take Me To The River US 26 - UK no chart
Once In A Lifetime US no chart - UK 14
Burning Down The House US 9 - UK no chart
Road To Nowhere US no chart - UK 6
And She Was US 54 - UK 17

So from their best known songs And She Was was the only single to even chart in both US snd UK???
That is really weird. I also can’t believe Psycho Killer only got to 92 in US snd didn’t chart in UK despite being a huge hit in my world at the time.

Psycho Killer was on a few of the early punk/new wave comps plus the great version from The Old Grey Whistle Test.

Yes, I made the same notes after looking at their discography on Wiki. Really surprised Road To Nowhere wasn't a huge hit in the States as it's an anthem over here. Similar story with And She Was, so catchy and commercial yet a bit weird. As for Once In a Lifetime, it should have been number one on both sides of the Atlantic if there was any justice. One of those all-timer 10/10 songs.
