Inspired by the Women's Album poll, I've been dipping into TBS albums. I think this is my favourite of theirs.
Great tunes, great lyrics. My only criticism is the sometimes bland, polished production means I don't reach for them very often (give me some feedback-y electric guitar to be in the center of my wheelhouse), but when I'm in the mood they scratch the itch that I'm after. But they weren't at all about trying to be cool or discordant.

The epitome of an "adult alternative" sound, but with a cynical-as-fuck lyrics covered in sugar.

Good stuff, and sort of a nice continuation for Housemartins fans.

Rebirth by Jimmy Cliff. Great in concept, great in execution, really let down by a mix that has all the low-end of a Pete Seeger record. This bass needed to blast the room down.

Listened to this all day yesterday, Scott Walker/Walker Bros are a very close number 2 to the Clash for me.

I've been playing this all day. A few years since I gave it a spin. The absolute realest shit:

Interesting fact: John Walker was an early guitar teacher / influence for both Carl Wilson and David Marks of The Beach Boys, who would be an early influence on Joe.

Yep! I actually like John's solo stuff alot too. It doesn't reach the heights of Scott's, but hardly anything does.

This track of his is a particular favorite of mine:

Still insanely good after all these years.

One of the very few albums lacking bass that I like.
