Chaos and Creation In the Backyard - Paul McCartney. You know what? Give it a try. It's a bit like if the guy from the Beatles made an album in his sixties. I mean, BeatlesMcCartney, not actual real world modern McCartney.

Of the IRS records, this is the one I spin the least, tho by no means is it bad. It's a great listen, yet it just doesn't stick in my craw the way the others do.

CK turned me onto Emma Ruth Rundle, a post-rock alt-folk singer—dark, ambient stuff. I learned that she's collaborated with sludge metal band Thou. Which is, um, an unusual pairing. It's definitely listenable, at least when ERR is singing. I've never found growly demon metal voice anything but either distracting or silly.

Easily my favourite recent band, a fantastic Russian shoegaze outfit that makes the most wonderful noises.

Hello,

The Three Johns - Atom Drum Bop. This is a great album but I'm not sure why. Not No Wave, not punk, not post-punk, maybe art-punk by boys from the corner bar. I'm guessing most won't like it and won't have the patience to listen to the whole album to gather an appreciation of it - maybe it's nostalgia on my part. Regardless, the off-shoot of the Mekons (there's definitely a relationship to the Mekons Rock 'n' Roll) is worth my time, if not yours.

Just broke this out and so far I'm digging it more than the other Guantanamo records (they never quite grabbed me). Mixture of hardcore and some basic hard rock, tho curiously Biafra's voice isn't prominent in the mix. There's something comforting that after more than 40 years, Jello is still fighting the good fight.

Yeah, I've liked the singles they've promoted from this - may go ahead and order this. For all his flaws, I still love the guy.

Download/stream, yes. Physical, early next year, I believe.

Ok I paid for this and Im enjoying it.

And yeah the fact that Jello didn't become some dumb ass Republican is pretty satisfying.
