New Green Day has the right intention thats been missing to a degree since American Idiot. Like a pissed off, bright adolescent mindset.
Listening to Hank III's son, it's good stuff. IV and The Strange Band.

Nice, I'll keep an eye out for his gigs over here too. Dunno what's happened to Hank III, seems to have completely gone underground. Hard not to worry he's going through some troubles.revbob wrote: ↑24 Jan 2024, 8:16amYeah I like that they are trying to use their platform for something good.Silent Majority wrote: ↑24 Jan 2024, 5:35amNew Green Day has the right intention thats been missing to a degree since American Idiot. I can only assume it's a problem with the Spector estate perhaps.coffeepotman wrote: ↑24 Jan 2024, 11:21amThat's a beautiful thing, but where the hell is the End of The Century Super deluxe?!?!? It's done and been ready to release for over 4 years

The Fall, Code: Selfish. I was never that keen on this album—MES doesn't seem to be trying, like a contractually obliged effort—but I'm really digging it this time around. The band really grooves.

The Smile, Wall of Eyes. So many music sites have been yowling about this as Pure Genius™ so I decided to check it out. Jesus, it seems like noodling and meandering. Which, I suppose, is correct for tenting your fingers and concentrating. But … meh. (That said, I had the same reaction to Bowie's Blackstar, which made me a heathen, so maybe this is confirmation that I've rejected god's grace.)

Blackstar is orders of magnitude better than this album.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Jan 2024, 7:36pm

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop

That's really a solid record. MES is kinda in a relaxed mood almost.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Jan 2024, 11:51am
