The UK Embrace makes me feel sad inside
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

Yeah, a total indie landfill band to me.

The Stooges - 'Heavy Liquid' (2017)
There's an out of print box-set version of this album with multiple takes of the London '72 sessions for 'Raw Power', but this is a single disc version. Of the 17 cuts only the first nine are essential (the Detroit & New York '73 sessions sound like shit and Scott Thurston's keys didn't work until Iggy & James Williamson wrote & recorded the 'Kill City' album nearly two years later). Excluding the covers of "Louie Louie" and "Money", those seven songs from the '72 London sessions are as ferocious as anything on 'Raw Power', and that's saying a whole bunch. James Williamson's guitar is scarifying - as much as I love Johnny Thunders and the Joneses Mick & Steve, none of those guys could quite pull off that sort of frightening intensity. Oh - this stuff (and the 'Raw Power' album proper) was recorded at CBS Studio 3, same place the Clash's debut was recorded.

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
Hopefully they will stick it on Youtube as catch up. Stockport Plaza is just a few miles down the road from us, one of those restored old cinema/theatre buildings. Guy playing the organ and waving goodbye as he sinks back down when he is finishing playing, the full nostalgia trip. A real labour of love.BitterTom wrote: ↑28 Mar 2020, 6:20pmMissed sadly but did catch them the other year at the emptyhad stadium. Not only did they play a great set, United got an away win!laxman wrote: ↑28 Mar 2020, 10:54amhttps://www.nme.com/news/music/blossoms ... me-2636288
Youtube stream tonight at 8pm of a recent show at Stockport Plaza.

Metallica do nothing for me. But Embrace have a few tunes I like.

Great album.
Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
Album is ok, especially this opener, despite it reeking of I'm So Bored/Pretty Vacant.
