I dunno—most people loathe both bands but for distinct reasons.

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
I actually unironically really love this album (thanks Doc for sharing it with me). I was familiar with the big name tracks on it already, but it's putting good-era Morrissey lyrics set to music that's much more to my taste than the actual Smiths. That Slapshot song - released on their '96 album 16 Valve Hate - was my introduction to the Smiths in any form, and it's still a favorite track of mine (the cover and the original, actually).Silent Majority wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020, 10:31amThe World Still Won't Listen - A Hardcore Tribute to the Smiths.
The Meatmen song also rules, obviously, but so many great bands doing fun covers: the business, anal cunt, youth brigade, down by law, etc.
Very fun tribute.

Someone on Dime a Dozen posted one of the earliest known Swans bootlegs (1982). Certainly the earliest I've ever heard. The closing number also has Thurston Moore playing and singing with the band. They certainly weren't the terror machine they'd become in the following few years. It sounds like slow no wave to me and not excruciatingly loud. Neat little curiosity piece for me anyway.

Interesting. I don't have a dimeadozen account anymore, any chance of sharing an upload if you get a chance?Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 1:56pmSomeone on Dime a Dozen posted one of the earliest known Swans bootlegs (1982). Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
I was introduced to Los Fabulosos Cadillacs by Fishbone, so I was checking out this album (Rey Azúcar) when I suddenly heard Mick singing on the first track. I had to check out the album to make sure I wasn't hearing things, but what a strange and welcome bit of serendipity.
