If it clocks out at 45 minutes it's the Swans song.
Only children, hemophiliacs, and raccoons want it to end at 4 minutes.
I'm not complaining. Just seems the only way to tell the difference.
That and the blood coming from people's ears. And eyes. Sometimes nipples.
:yuck:

Which makes them number two on my list of "bands I never want to see live" right after KISS.
If I want to see clowns I'll go to the circus.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Okay, *now* I've found an actual leak of the new Swans album (albeit 192 kbps, which is fine until I receive the actual disc). Good times, Heston ol' chum, good times.

Hello,

Tomorrow Never Comes, the new Rancid album. It's pretty standard/dependable Rancid rock tracks - which is a good thing. One odd feature is no ska tracks. Overall, it's a fun listen.

Thoughts on the new Swans record …. If the last one was pretty stripped back, more akin to Gira's weirdo Americana Angels of Light records, this is a step again towards the more aggressive Swans motif. Tho it still sounds more like an aggressive Angels of Light. There's actual some pretty stuff on the record, too. Overall, the mood of the record seems uplifting to me. The crazy-ass 45-minute track is less a proper song than a mix of stuff from this record and the last one (and it's pretty good, too—doesn't seem to take 45 minutes to get thru).

Been flipping thru songs from Ivy's catalogue, but settled on listening to this album in its entirety. Ivy was always a band that, when their stuff was playing it was fairly decent, but nothing that ever stood out as "whoa." Just really solid slightly-alt guitar pop.

I've been checking out Pulp for maybe the second time lately, mostly because when people are turned off by the Blur v. Oasis crap, they usually cite Pulp as the real band to be listening to. It's ok, but I still prefer Echobelly, Sleeper, and Elastica most of all.

Supergrass are my faves from that Britpop era.

Supergrass and Elastica are the only ones that I still rate highly.

There is nothing more early 80's than this. Nothing.

Give Suede a chance. Their latest album (2022) was excellent and they remain an incredible live act. I had lost track of them after their Coming Up LP in about 1997 and was completely blown away by how good they still sounded when I saw them live last year. I went through everything they recorded post-Coming Up and it's really, really good.
