New Folk Implosion. Not "The New Folk Implosion" but the old Folk Implosion

Dunno why that embedding looks wrong but it works so it's good enough for me.

This'll get classified as pop-punk, but I'd call it bubblegum garage. Maybe that's the same thing aesthetically, but it's way too fun and upbeat to be punk in my view. Regardless, I'd like to think that this is the Go-Go's if they hadn't made the decision to pursue chart success.

Hello,

These kids are fun. I was going to use them in my next Packet of Threes. Bubblegum garage is a good fit.

So if the Archies had been Manga and came from the other side of the tracks.

Didn't someone already use them? Regardless, good tunes on the new album.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Herllo,

I'm listening to Red on Red Hots: Year One Compilation From Red on Red Records. It had a Neighborhoods track on it so I bought the album for $2. There's some really good rock/power pop on this. I was surprised at the number of female lead vocals. It's well worth $2. Revbob and Boston Bean Eater may recognize some of these bands.

Try this:

I've just 'Satellite Life' by Billy MacKenzie through the post, the 3cd release on Cherry Red of the former Associates recordings from 1994-96. So far, it is great. I was surprised to spot someone I know played guitar on a few tracks, something he's never let on to me about.

😎

I've been very tempted to get the "Sulk" reissue.
