This looks interesting. Know Your Enemy has long been the most difficult LP in their catalog for me (and I'm sure I'm not alone). Will definitely pick this up.laxman wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 3:44pmhttps://www.manicstreetpreachers.com/ca ... re-issued/

As a concept—taking 30+ year-old abandoned song ideas and trying to resuscitate them—it could have resulted in complete farce, but it turned out to be one of the best records in their arsenal. There's an argument, too, that this would have been a good time to stop.

Hello,
Building on the Proclaimers from above, I investigated their latest. It's good - "The world that was, has now become a cause" - kind of a MAGA reference/taunt.

Just got turned onto Sudan Archives. Pretty wild hard to pin down genre stuff. Terrific energy, almost feels anthemic.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

This is a great record. I'm torn as to whether they should've stopped. But they haven't matched it in any shape or form. Seem to be treading water since.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑14 Sep 2022, 7:42pm
