Hello,
New Iggy Pop album - Every Loser. It's pretty good. More rock than Post Pop Depression.

I listened to Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots while out for a run this morning. Perhaps the most chilled run I have ever had! Haven’t listened to the album before, I thought it was good fun.

Great album. Tempted by the box set but I've read it's very poorly packaged and I've got the previous edition.

Great idea for a running album. Love it.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

I read that too, but does seem a good price for the CD version.Marky Dread wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 11:09amGreat album. Tempted by the box set but I've read it's very poorly packaged and I've got the previous edition.

It is good value. Not sure how much of it I need. I've got the 2 disc set with dvd. And the 7 track "Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell" mini album.laxman wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 12:21pmI read that too, but does seem a good price for the CD version.Marky Dread wrote: ↑08 Jan 2023, 11:09amGreat album. An absolutely perfect song to my ears, marrying trad country will a tamed boogie woogie piano line. A song that always elicits a smile.

The Martinis, Smitten. Somehow I was unaware of this album and band's existence until today. For those as clueless as me, this is the group formed by Joey Santiago and his wife after Black Francis decided he'd rather make increasingly turdish music. This, tho, is fantastic. JS' guitar is immediately apparent—as in, I'd immediately recognize who was playing guitar, and I'm a boob with such things—but the music is just plain fun. Very groovy, a little surf/spacey. It swings.

Trashcan Sinatras, A Happy Pocket (2022 remaster). One of my all-time favourite records. Classically, tragically ,mishandled by their label and forced the band into bankruptcy. They're still at it and doing the remaster/deluxe thing with their work of late. Great, great band.
