Yup, I played the hell out of the first 4 albums in the 80s - Car, Scratch, Melt, Security. Also like So and Us a lot too. I saw Pete at the Human Rights Now show at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto in 1988 and still have the t-shirt from that show.

I still remember the first time I heard "Moribund the Burgermeister." What a day that was.
Great song. So bizarre. My favorites from that album are that, Here Comes the Flood, and of course Solsbury Hill.
I’m a little confused though. Going through his Spotify discography it appears he recorded some of his albums with German vocals? Odd market to try and appeal to.
Not so odd considering the New German Wave was in full bloom around that time.
“I wrote to the French, Italian, German and Spanish labels, saying I wanted to experiment creating a version of my album in another language,” Gabriel said. “The only label to show any interest was the German, hence the choice.” In true Gabriel fashion, simply removing his vocals from the existing records and singing a translated version was not enough. “It also gave me a chance to try new mixing and remixing approaches, with some new overdubs.” These new versions were, especially on Security, at times, radically diverse.

Yeah, I guess the label figured there was some commercial potential. No idea how the records actually sold here though. His German takes some getting used to.

I love it when Flex lets us know he lost a stupid bar bet.

Disclaimer: most of the music I listen to is at least 30 years old.
Are these guys related to RX Bandits in any way? Their singer sounds like my memory of the singer from that band (my memory could be quite erroneous).

Doubt it. They’re Louisiana based and I think they’re all younger than would be feasible. They’re all from different bands, but I didn’t see RX Bandits listed.
