Also been listening to the Tears for Fears Seeds of Love deluxe reissue. Hardly ever play the original CD, but the extra versions etc make for a good listen. I need to resist buying it because I would probably play it once and never listen to it again.

I've never been able to get into that one. I think Curt Smith left the band about halfway through recording, and to my mind, something about that shows.

I read that he was going through a divorce and spending a lot of time in the States, so wasn’t involved very much. Also he announced he was leaving the band before the tour, so that probably didn’t make for a great time. I don’t think there was any fall out, just a change in circumstances. I have definitely enjoyed listening to the extra discs and have bitten the bullet and ordered the box set. Apologies to the late, great Hellboy.

along with a request to see if anyone owns either of their albums. They are among the most stereotypical new-wave bands but they're good at it. I'm anxious to acquire their albums but am at a loss as to how to do it.

Man, this is my new (old) favorite band, I got drunk and listed to these all night, then I listened to the two I already had, then I listened to them again!

I should love The Pop Group, I really should. If we Venn diagrammed them, they intersect with so many bands and albums that I adore. Yet they've never done much for me. Too harsh, too hectoring, too squawky. Never been a fan of Mark Stewart's voice and delivery. But I decided to check out the new album and … well, it's okay. Not something I expect to return to often, but it's mostly listenable.

I always want to like them more than I do. Though I do like them.

I do think 'We Are All Prostitutes" is a legit classic, though.

I'm dedicating the next couple days to trying them again, consume the whole batch, as well as some of Mark Stewart's New Age Steppers material.

I realise it was six years ago, but how did it go with the New Age Steppers? Just come across their stuff and really like what I have heard so far.
